requirement to open an eCitizen account
To create and activate your account on the eCitizen portal, you will need the following items;
- A computer/phone/tablet with internet connection
- A National ID card number
- A functional e-mail address
- A passport sized photo in soft copy
- An active mobile phone number
- then you need to select the kind of account you need from the four offered on the plateform. We have explained the four accounts below.
- 1. Citizens; this account is only for Kenyan citizens who have a National identity card.
- 2. Business; this account is solely for businesses registered in Kenyan and you will need a business registration number to open the account.
- 3. Foreign Residents; this account is for non-nationals living in the country and their foreigner certificate substitutes the National ID number.
- 4. Visitor; this account is for any alien who requires a Kenyan Visa to be permitted to enter Kenya.
